Jacqui tapp

I’m a nimble producer with a TV and brand storytelling background that loves crafting emotionally resonant, fun and tangible video.

I currently contract directly with brands and production companies as a freelance producer, editor, director, marketing consultant and voiceover artist.

In former roles I’ve helped parenting startup Motherly find its video voice to generate traffic and grow its brand, piloted original docu-series for VEVO and Magnolia Network, and worked in development, production and post for VH1, MTV and Comedy Central. I’ve also shot and edited video and photo for brands, lifestyle clients and nonprofits.

I love producing in the field and on set, but in the past 5+ years I’ve become equally experienced managing remote production and post workflows.

I have extensive experience story producing, stretching and reimagining UGC and other shot content for different use cases, platforms and audiences. I’ve always been down for a scrappy challenge!

Some other scrappy challenges that round out my day to day: I’m a mother of three, trained birth and postpartum doula, hockey player/coach and a backyard chicken farmer.

TV + SERIES WORK

I post-produced the pilot for this colorful home design series, and worked as a post Producer on its first two seasons (2022-2024).

I developed and produced this raw hosted interview series for VEVO, featuring on-the-verge indie artists with a focus on the cities + spaces that inspire them. These are very raw, docu-style, and were shot with the help of a tiny crew.

The experiential toy store CAMP hired me (during a COVID surge!) to create these features that show what it feels like to visit their stores and go “behind the magic door.”

I developed movie programming blocks for VH1, hosted by the hilarious Michelle Buteau and Jade Catta-Preta. We’d create segments to run in the film breaks, and we’d have fun parodying the films, working in sketches and silly runners.

brand tiktoks + reels

I recently post-produced and edited short-form branded videos for Lowe’s Home Improvement and Magnolia Network. Their top destinations were Tiktok and Reels, but they’ll be used elsewhere, too.

(yes, this is a screen record! 🙃 I made these for talent to post)

motherly

Motherly is a parenting lifestyle startup that hired me as their solo video producer in 2017. At the time I was a TV producer who’d recently returned to shooting and editing her own content, a new(ish) mom and a birth-doula-in-training. Their content and mission felt like a seamless fit for me, as it aimed to support, inform and validate moms.

Driven by organic social video, Motherly experienced explosive social growth and video quickly became the primary traffic-driver to the site. Here are a few of the many social and site videos I made for them with minimal production resources.
